Only Iran can maintain security in Persian Gulf: general

 (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Naval Force says Iran is the only power that can guarantee the security of the Persian Gulf.  Speaking at a ceremony on Sunday, which was held to commemorate the martyrdom of Rais Ali Delvari, a national hero who organized popular resistance against imperialism when British troops invaded Iran in 1915, Admiral Ali Fadavi said that the presence of the United States in the Persian Gulf has always led to insecurity in the region.   He went on to say that countries like the U.S., which describe themselves as superpowers, live in illusions but they should be aware that “a power is superior that is joined to divine power.” “Our dispute with the U.S. does not have an economic nature because if so, we would have reached an agreement on the issues. Our dispute is not political or cultural either, rather, it does have the nature of the dispute between right and wrong and the nature definitely creates a situation that the dispute continues forever unless one of the powers takes another path,” Fadavi said. Commenting on the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, which was held from August 26 to 31 in Tehran, Fadavi said that many countries tried to create a sense of insecurity in Iran during the NAM summit but the meetings were held in complete security.  /129
